We
want our volunteers to have a teaching experience that
is successful and productive for everyone involved. For
that reason, we offer free certification in TEFL (Teaching
English as a Foreign Language) for all volunteers on our
Teach English projects.
Before going abroad, Teach English volunteers will be
enrolled in the TEFL Online, a training course that prepares
you to teach English anywhere in the world. As a graduate,
you'll receive an internationally recognized TEFL certificate
that will boost your professional credentials as well
as your confidence in the classroom.
About TEFL Online
TEFL Online is a 12-module course that covers the basics
of teaching English abroad. The program takes about 60
hours of your time to complete, after which you'll receive
your TEFL Online Diploma and be ready for your volunteer
English teaching position overseas.
TEFL Online Tutors
All TEFL Online students are assigned their own tutor
for the course. Our tutors are professional teachers experienced
in the field of teaching English as a foreign language.
Your tutor will guide you through the course, grade your
assignments, provide personalized feedback, and answer
any questions you may have. Each tutor profile is listed
on the TEFL Online website, so that you know a bit more
about the person with whom you are corresponding.
TEFL Online Video Tutorials
TEFL Online video tutorials bring the classroom to you. See what you’re learning come to life as you watch professional teachers lead real students in English class. These practical demonstrations reinforce your online lessons, allowing you to build confidence and be better prepared for your teaching experience abroad.

"I was very pleased
with, and impressed by, the response of my two tutors,
which were consistently prompt, detailed, and thoughtful.
I could tell that they were experienced teachers, and
that they had spent time reading and considering carefully
my assignments. They really inspired my learning process
and I greatly appreciate their work."
