Teach English to children and teens when you volunteer with our Teach English Program in India.

You will be working with local teachers and students in small town schools in the states of Himachal and Rajasthan. As a volunteer with our Teach English Program, you will be teaching children in the areas of English and math as well as organizing arts, crafts and games. You will be working to create a positive learning environment for the children, which will encourage them to continue education throughout their lives.

Besides giving each child individual attention, volunteers will also be helping promote hygiene and health awareness for these young people. As a volunteer with our Teach English Program, you will have the opportunity to dramatically improve the levels of education, health, and social welfare of the children of rural India.

As a volunteer you will be:

Teaching and tutoring children in English and math.
Developing a creative environment for children through crafts, games and sports.
Assisting with creating low-cost teaching material.
Organizing health check-ups for students, creating hygiene awareness.

“I have enjoyed teaching first and second grade at [the] school. Thank you for the stay. I have enjoyed it, it’s a lovely place, and people are very nice here.”

Andre
“I came here with the expectation to make a significant change in someone’s life, but I think the one whose life has definitely changed with this experience is my own. I nevertheless hope I have made my contribution to this ongoing process.”

Brian
“We started out very well with a nice introduction week in Delhi and Jaipur and a nice stay at a host family. The guides have all the way been very helpful and the staff at the school seems to like us. To live at the camp and the house has all in all been really good. I have had a great time with the staff, [who] have been really nice.”

Signe Wais
“I enjoyed each and every aspect of my two months in India. It was also a great preparation for my trip ahead. I now hope to see and understand things with a deeper perspective.”
