Teach
English to primary school children when you volunteer
with our Teaching and AIDS Orphans Program in Swaziland.
As a volunteer with our Teaching and AIDS Orphans Program, you will
be working with local teachers and students in small-town
schools in the small, picturesque country of Swaziland.
A neighbor of South Africa, Swaziland boasts stunning
natural beauty and rich culture, but also suffers from
extreme poverty and social problems. Your volunteer
efforts will be concentrated in and around the Ezulwini
Valley, the cultural heart of Swaziland known as the
“Valley of Heaven.”
Volunteers with our Teaching and AIDS Orphans Program
will teach
children English and help improve schools by working
on projects to build new facilities and community gardens.
You will work to create a positive learning environment
for children who often have no role models or support
systems outside of school.
In addition to classroom instruction, volunteers will
have the chance to engage students in extracurricular
activities such as sports or drama and crafts. You can
also help teach children about agriculture using school
gardens.
As
a volunteer you will:
Teach
children English, math and other relevant
subjects
Organize
extracurricular activities such as sports,
plays and field trips
Help
develop school gardens to teach children about agriculture
Offer
a hand on school construction projects to improve facilities
