Help preserve, protect and restore Australia’s environment when you volunteer with our Australia Conservation Project.
In this dynamic project, volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of conservation experts in efforts to conserve the unique Australian environment.
In recent years, a phenomenal rise in population has exhausted Australia’s biologically diverse environment. Urban sprawl and the clearing of native vegetation have affected the country’s soil, purity of water, cultural and historic sites, and endangered much of Australia’s native flora and fauna.
As a volunteer on the Australia Conservation Project, you will participate in a variety of conservation activities. Working in teams of 10, you will learn how to conduct endangered flora and fauna surveys, and to restore native ecosystems by planting trees and collecting important seeds. You’ll also have the opportunity to help rebuild and manage spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites throughout the country. Depending on the season, you may even have the chance to restore rainforest habitats in Brisbane. Volunteers will split their time between projects, as the locations will change about every two weeks. This allows you to see a vast portion of the country while making a difference in Australia.

As a volunteer you will:
Conduct endangered flora and fauna surveys
Plant trees and remove weeds in the Adelaide Hills
Participate in erosion and salinity control
Construct and maintain walking paths as well as beach boardwalks on Great Ocean Road
Restore rainforests in Brisbane
Administer various wildlife surveys along the coast
Restore habitat and heritage sites throughout Australia
