| Help Argentina’s residents in need when you volunteer with our Community Outreach Program in Buenos Aires.
Volunteers with our Community Outreach Program will have the opportunity to work hands-on on a wide variety of projects designed to benefit residents in one of Buenos Aires’ most economically depressed neighborhoods. You will spend your time helping out in neighborhood centers, churches, soup kitchens, halfway houses and shelters, providing basic services such as childcare, meal preparation, English lessons, and assistance for the elderly and people with special needs.
As a volunteer in Buenos Aires, you will not only be helping members of the local community meet their basic needs, but will also have the opportunity to serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging both adults and youth to realize their full potential.
As a volunteer you can*:
Prepare food baskets and deliver them to families in need
Cook and serve afternoon snacks or evening meals
Provide daycare for young children
Visit the elderly in nursing homes
Organize recreational and/or educational activities for children and adolescents
Tutor students after school
Work on small construction projects or painting
Teach residents about nutrition, personal hygiene, and healthy lifestyles
Work with disabled people
Provide informal English lessons
Fundraise and collect donations of food, clothing, medical supplies, and other materials
Develop and implement special workshops (drama, music/dance, photography, art, health, etc.)
Organize field trips
Assist with administrative tasks and record-keeping
*Exact activities will depend on time of year and duration of project.
