Volunteer placements, especially in Latin America, can change at the last minute during the holiday season from December through January. Volunteers need to be flexible during this time of the year as their volunteer duties, schedule and activities can change according to a project’s needs or scheduling. In these situations, Volunteer Adventures will do its best to balance the volunteer’s preferences with the project’s needs. In the event that a project closes unexpectedly during this time, Volunteer Adventures will work to find the volunteer another suitable placement.

Homestay Information
This section only applies to volunteers who plan to stay with host families. If you are not staying with a host family, you do not have to fill out this section. Host familes are only offered in certain countries and for volunteers enrolled in the Gold or Silver packages in Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

Insurance
We provide emergency medical and travel insurance for $75.00. Insurance is mandatory; if you elect not to enroll in our insurance plan, you will be required to provide Volunteer Adventures with proof of international insurance before your trip.

A nonrefundable deposit of $295 is required with registration. There is an additional rush fee of $100 for all registrations received less than 45 days before the start date for all programs. These rush fees reflect the extra work involved in last-minute registrations. We strongly recommend registering 3-6 months before your scheduled start date, as projects fill up quickly.
