Can Volunteer Adventures help me with my travel arrangements?
Volunteer Adventures has partnered with Fly for Good and Exito to provide you with customized, affordable travel options. Book your travel today—Visit our Discount Airfare page!

Can I travel before and after my project?
Yes. As long as you arrive at your project pickup location on the start date, you can travel before your volunteer experience. You can also travel after, as long as you stay at your location during your committed time on your project.

Will I have an opportunity to get to know the location in which my project is based and see the surrounding areas?
Yes. Although you are committed to specific volunteer schedules, we make sure that you have free time to explore and get to know the local culture and attractions. In almost all project locations, we offer specially planned excursions and activities.

What should I do about health and travel insurance?
For your health and safety, international travel insurance is required for all of our projects. Volunteer Adventures can provide you with comprehensive coverage for $75. This travel insurance covers emergency evacuation, lost or stolen passport, delayed baggage, and minor medical costs. The policy is not intended to replace your current health insurance, which we suggest volunteers maintain during their volunteer adventure. If you elect not to use our service, you must provide proof of insurance before departure. For complete details of our coverage, click here.

Can Volunteer Adventures help me get a visa?
A tourist visa is usually acceptable for most countries. In the event that you need another type of visa, the staff at Volunteer Adventures will tell you which one is required and how to get it. We cannot, however, contact a consulate for you.

Will I need a visa, or will a passport be sufficient?
Each country in which we offer projects has its own visa policies, and these policies vary according to the nationality of the student. For most countries you can get a tourist visa with little or no problem. We recommend checking online, or with the nearest consulate of the country where you wish to study for the particular visa requirements of that country. Volunteer Adventures will also provide you with basic visa information for each country where we offer projects.

What are the current safety and health conditions in my project country?
